Between Sight & Soul is a profound solo art exhibition by visual artist Martin Senkubuge, hosted at the historic Nommo Gallery in Nakasero. Organised by the Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC) in collaboration with Muundo Foundation and Limitless Curators, this month-long exhibition invites art enthusiasts to contemplate the delicate line between physical appearance and inner essence. Featuring highly detailed, emotive portraiture that highlights themes of skin identity and human vulnerability, this collection challenges conventional perceptions of beauty.

Developed within the project framework IMEP (Incapacitating Myths, Embracing Patterns), the exhibition serves as a philosophical inquiry into identity, perception, and societal constructs of difference. Through large-scale charcoal works depicting individuals with vitiligo alongside twins, Senkubuge reframes inherited myths—such as local beliefs surrounding twins—into narratives of beauty, resilience, and shared humanity.
